Keeping it local

There was another Spanish tale of triumph to tell when SSP secured a contract to continue to operate a number of outlets at Gran Canaria Airport

The company, which has been the sole food and beverage operator at the airport for 18 years, will shortly be opening a bar called Canary TROPICAL, which has been created in partnership with local brewing company Compañía Cervecera de Canarias.

The new outlet will serve a selection of the region’s best known dishes together with local beers, and has been specifically designed to appeal to Canary islanders visiting the airport. There will also be a new Caffè Ritazza, and the existing Upper Crust will be refurbished.

The new outlets have been chosen to complement an existing Starbucks and Burger King, and will reflect the company’s aims to use and promote local products and local recipes.
